Hermonie Granger.... The Fashion Icon?

It feels like I've watch Emma Watson grow up in front of me like a proud mom I've seen her transform from the smart-mouth, brainiac, book-aholic wizard in Harry Potter The Soccer Stone, to an elegant young lady on fashion campaigns for Burberry 2009-2010. Her look is even requested in Teen Vogue, but Watson's favorite outfit is surprisingly skinny jeans, shrunken blazers, and ballet flats, a uniform that is both classy and classic.(06-09 Teen vogue.com) Which this is hard for the world to believe, when seeing the British Beauty on the red carpet of any event dressed head to toe in fabulous couture. In Watson's COVER girl interview she states "I don't really buy designer stuff. I have a few nice things, I don't really have the occasion to wear couture too often. When I'm in a situation where I do need to dress up, I'm typically lent something, which means I have to give it back at midnight, like Cinderella"(04-2009) Don't we all wish to have the "Fiercest" dress of them all!
Fans call her style elegant, and punctual. Although the 19-year old star plans on going to a U.S. college(Brown University) says she will be focused on her studies, but Watson won't turn her back on the craft that made her famous. Watson just hopes in her dormitory her roommate isn't a big fan of the Harry Potter (http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20290585,00.html) But who isn't apart of the Harry Potter phenomena? Good luck with that

My Ode to the 40's Glamour

Fishnet stockings, silk dresses, red lipstick, "snazzy" hats, with a long trench coats. Flawless make-up, and t-strap shoes. Oh how I love the 40's, even though I wasn't there to witness the glamour, I often see women dressed up as if their on the set of Casablanca, or my personal fave 42ND street. Even A-list designers are revising Old Hollywood glamour such as; Dior, Ralph Lauren, Jill Sander, and Versace. While researching the 40's era I've come to the conclusion that they break their style into 2 popular looks for women.
First is the TOUGH CHICK: This look consist of trousers, trench coats Beret's, Sleeve Bow Blouses, Belted Capes, and super long gloves. Elegant actress such as Lauren Bacall, Katherine Hepburn and Ingrid Bergman made this style very popular. A movie where this style is portrayed in is a 1933 classic Intermezzo (also called Intermezzo: A Love Story ) Check it out, I'm all about love stories

Next is my fave look of the 40's the "VAMP" look, which is definitely in this season. This look includes elbow gloves, high heeled t-strap shoes, and sexy siren dresses in sheer fabrics, draped in silk and satin, also strapless or billowy sleeve dresses with sparkling applique'. And PLEASE don't forget about the wavy curls, and the GO TO HELL RED lipstick :). Fashion vixens of this style are; Ava Garner, Rita Hayworth, and Veronica Lake. Although this era is out of mind, it is definitely not OUT OF STYLE. A very famous retail store, that I hear is coming to N.Y. is inspired by 40's glam. It's called Topshop, they also have a website that has all the latest trends. You can go to their website to check out their clothes (topshop.com). It's absolutely to die for.... well not die, but maybe pass out (lol) If any questions or comments feel free to email me Christinjhnsn@yahoo.com Ciao!

Ms. Diva Davanna

I really don't like the Tyra Banks show, but one episode caught my eye when the topic was " The most famous people on youtube" I was actually looking at the show to see the fat guy dancing to "Single Ladies". But I ended up missing him :(, but i caught a little girl named Davanna Booker the 9-year old child-modeling sensation, that's been blessed with the stage name Diva Davanna! Look her up on youtube. She is definitely something to look out for, I can totally see her getting a contract with Ford Models. I looked up some information about her when seeing her perform on the show. She actually has a twin named Dejohnna.... I wonder if she's thinking of modeling as well. Diva Davanna had walked in over 200 shows, and walked for some of New Jersey's hottest designers such as; Timotheous J. Smart, Don Byrd, Vernest Moore, Six Fur's, and Hood Star Luxury. If you don't believe me about this sensational little girl PLEASE visit youtube.com/divadavanna. And prepare to be amazed! Until then see you next time
